Introduction

JIRA tends to hold a large percentage of documentation and evidence that typically needs to be pulled in manually every audit.

Especially with JIRA, manually setting up JQL queries to capture the right picture on a control by control basis every audit is tedious and error-prone. That's where the Complyance JIRA integration comes in.

The integration can automatically renew evidence by re-running the JQL query for JIRA. This happens automatically and ahead of evidence expiry.

Create service account

Navigate to https://admin.atlassian.com. Go to Directory → Service accounts.
Click on the Create a service account button.
Enter a service account name and description. For example:
- Name - Complyance
- Description - Service Account for Complyance integration
Select the User role for the Jira app and click Create.
Click on the Create credentials button.
Select OAuth 2.0 and click Next.
Enter a name for the credentials, for example ReadOnly. Click Next.
Search for and select the following scopes:
- read:me
- read:jira-work
Then click Next.
Review the OAuth information and click Next.
Copy the Client ID and Client secret, then click Done.
