Complyance comes with a number of system fields by default when you first enter your environment. In addition, you can create custom fields to tailor the platform to your organization’s specific needs.
Custom fields allow you to capture additional, organization-specific data and make Complyance more relevant to your processes.
Creating a Custom Field
Note: The process to create a custom field is the same for each module, but custom fields are specific to the module where they are created. For example, a custom field created in the Controls module will only be available in that module.
- Navigate to the settings tab on the left-hand side of the Complyance navigation bar.
- Under the module you are creating a custom field for select the fields tab. In the field tab you can see all of the fields you currently have in the controls module.
- To add a new custom field, select '+ new field' at the top of the page.
- Configure the custom field: Choose the type of field you would like to create. (Text, Date, Number, URL, Email, Multiple options)
- Enter the field name, for example 'Control criticality'.
If using the Multiple Options field, set additional permissions:
- Allow multiple selection – lets users choose more than one option from the dropdown.
- Allow user to create new options – lets users add options outside of Settings.
If disabled, you must add all options here using the Add New button.
- Show only on specific programs – limits visibility so the field only appears in the Details tab of selected programs.
Save the field - click 'Create' and your new custom field is ready to be used.
