Introduction
Adding a new vendor in Complyance is simple and sets the foundation for your third-party risk workflows. Once added, you’ll be able to send questionnaires, assess risks, and keep track of all related activity from a single record.
Adding a New Vendor
Adding and Editing Vendors required the correct permissions, so if you do not have the ability to add and make edits please speak to your system administrator.
-
Go to the Vendor module
Find Vendors in the left-hand navigation bar under the Third Parties section. -
Click “+New vendor”
You’ll see this button at the top right of the Vendor register. -
Fill in the key details
Required fields typically include:- Vendor Name
- Description (Typically a description of services the Vendor provides)
- Vendor Contact (the email you will send the Vendor questionnaire to)
-
Owner (the platform user responsible for this vendor)
What Happens Next?
Once finalized, the vendor record becomes your central hub for managing that third party. From here, you can:
- Send a security questionnaire from the questionnaires tab
- Store related documents in the documents tab
- Track questionnaire progress and responses
- Assess vendor risk and add mitigations
- Link the vendor to associated risks
Tip
Use consistent naming conventions and keep the owner field up to date to make managing your vendor register easier over time.
