Introduction
The Control Center is where you can easily view and manage your controls within Complyance. Whether you're tracking the status of your controls or linking evidence, this guide will walk you through navigating the Control Center and using its features effectively.
You’ll find your controls organized by program in the Programs section on the left-hand side of Complyance.
Below Programs, you’ll see the Control Center, which contains a complete list of all your controls. If you’ve just started using the platform, your programs and controls will already have been migrated and configured by the Complyance team.
Navigating the Control Center
In the Control Center, or when you open a specific program, you’ll see three summary boxes at the top of the page:
- Valid Controls: Displays the total number of valid controls, along with a pie chart showing completion.
- My Valid Controls: Highlights the valid controls where you are the assigned owner.
- Alerts: Lists any controls that are "Failing" or "At Risk." You can click this box to go directly to the Alerts section for more details.
Below these boxes, you’ll find a table with all your controls. The table shows the Status of each control (e.g., Pending, Valid, At Risk) in the first column.
Control Statuses
Controls can have the following statuses:
- Pending: The control has no evidence linked to it yet.
- Valid: The control has valid evidence linked to it.
- At Risk: The control’s evidence is close to expiring, based on the frequency set for the control.
- Failing: The evidence linked to the control has expired, based on the frequency set for the control.
Navigating the Control Drawer
To view a control, click on its name in the table. This will open the Control Drawer, where you can access detailed information and perform actions for that control.
Details Tab
The Details tab, at the top of the right hand navigation bar, displays the basic information about a control, including:
- System Fields: Standard fields such as Name, Description, and Criteria.
- All controls have these system fields, and these are Migrated by the Complyance Implementation team
- Custom Fields: Any additional fields added by your team to track specific data. Custom fields are bespoke per organization.
At the top left of the drawer, you’ll see the unique Control ID (e.g., "Control / C0201") and its current status (e.g., “At risk”)
Evidence Tab
The Evidence tab, below the Details tab, is where you can link and manage evidence for the control. You have three options to Create and Link evidence:
- Create New Evidence: Drag and drop your file or use the "Add new evidence" button to upload a new evidence item.
- Link Existing Evidence: Use the "Link existing evidence" option to attach previously uploaded evidence.
- AI Evidence Recommendation (if enabled): Use AI to automatically suggest relevant evidence from your uploaded files.
Linked evidence will appear in a table within the Evidence tab. Click on the evidence name to view it in the Evidence Center.
Other Control Tabs
From the Tabs section on the right hand side of the Control Drawer, you can take additional actions:
- Comments Tab: Add comments, attach files, and edit your notes for the control.
- Tasks Tab: Create and assign tasks related to the control. Tasks include a name, due date, and assignee, and the assigned user will receive an email notification.
- History Tab: View a log of all actions taken on the control, along with timestamps and the user who performed them.
